The Boneyard

This dinosaur dig site-themed playground in Animal Kingdom is a great place to burn off some energy while escaping the heat as well as the crowds. The Boneyard is located just inside Dinoland, U.S.A. Once you cross under the Dinosaur bridge, the entrance to the Boneyard playground will be on your left. (This is the only entrance to the Boneyard playground.)

The Boneyard playground includes slides, rope bridges, caves, tunnels, and a little bit of water to splash in. There are some shaded areas in the Boneyard has some shaded areas, but if you're looking for complete shade then head over across the bridge to the Dig site.

The Dig Site

Budding paleontologists can uncover faux Wooly Mammoth bones at the dig site across the bridge from the playground. To access the Dig Site, enter the Boneyard playground and take the ramp on the left to the upper level in order to cross over the Dinosaur bridge. This bridge goes over the entrance to DinoLand, U.S.A. (The Dinosaur bridge is pictured on the left.) The Dig Site has no-stick sandpit for the kids to play in and rocks along the edge where parents can sit and rest their feet.
